Note The first "Un cadavre" of 1924 was directed against Anatole France, but the target of this second is André Breton, who had attacked its authors in his Second manifeste du surréalisme (1930); see Dictionnaire général. The ill. reproduces a photograph of Breton with closed eyes, wearing a crown of thorns. Texts by G. Ribemont-Dessaignes, Jacques Prévert, and Raymond Queneau, as well as Roger Vitrac, Michel Leiris, Georges Limbour, J.-A.
