Summary Catalog of an exhibition of 28 drawings, three paintings, one watercolor, and some aquatints by Jean-Baptiste Le Prince (1734-1781). All are inspired by his travels in Russia. Also included in the exhibition are the drawings of Jean-Michel Moreau le Jeune and Caresme de Fécamp, contemporaries of Le Prince and his co-illustrators of the abbé Chappe d'Auteroche's Voyage en Siberie (Journey into Siberia), which was pubished in 1768. This is the first major exhibition of Le Prince, and the catalog is the first study of him since 1879. There is a black and white reproduction for each of the 42 checkist entries except for no. 36, which is not illustrated. The drawings are in the collection of the Rosenbach Museum and Library, Philadelphia and the exhibition was shown there before traveling to the Frick Art Museum, Pittsburgh, and the Frick Collection, New York.
