Condition history (e) Lovely state, except for poorly repaired cracks in gesso at joining of the boards. Never cleaned.
Color notes (d) Inner cross, soft dull blue, edged in red. Loin-cloth, shaded with schematic dark blue lines. reds and blues predominate, some greens and browns.
Attribution history (a) Italian School, Pisan - 1st quarter 13th c. by Richard Offner, 15 October 1924. In same spiritual line as the other Crucifix in Pisa. Similarity in the narrow folds of the loin-cloth; (i) Italian School, Tuscan - 12th c. by van Marle, 1923; (k) Circle of Giunta Pisano by Osvald Sirén, 1914; (d) Italian School, Pisan - 13th c. by Frick Art Reference Library, 1925.
