Color notes (b) The picture is strong in color. The Virgin's mantle, part of which forms the head dress is a dark blue. The infant's hair ir reddish, and he wears a light gray garment.
Attribution history (a) Italian School, Florentine - 4th quarter 13th c. by Richard Offner, 1926, dated to circa 1275 to 1280. This painting is not by Guido da Siena, but is Florentine and was executed in this period of time; (d) Guido da Siena by Millard Meiss, 1952.
