Condition history (a) The panel was split down the middle while being brought home by the Reverend Davies, and he had it repaired by a Henry Merritt.
Attribution history (a) Attributed to Pietro Lorenzetti. This was an idea of the Rev. given by letter from him written in 1917; (c) Attributed to Italian School, Florentine - 15th c. by Frick Art Reference Library, April 1931. There seems to be nothing Sienese in it.
