Provenance (c) On triumphal arch, Sant'Agostino, Rimini, hidden from below by modern baroque ceiling, it was brought to light by the damage caused by earthquake (c and d) of 1916;
(a, c and e) at time of ensuing restoration (circa 1922-1923) detached, by G. Della Nave, and deposited in Salone dell'Arengo, Palazzo dell'Arengo, Rimini.

Condition history (a) Restored. Detached and deposited in Salone dell'Arengo, Rimini. Fragmentary condition. It suffered badly from the collapse of the left half of the pediment; (c) restored. Detached and deposited in Salone dell'Arengo, Rimini, by G. della Nave; 1922 to 1923.
Attribution history (a) Anonymous - 14th cent. by G. Nave, 1925; (b) Italian School, Rimini - 14th cent. by Brandi, 1935. It has close affinities with Cavallini; (c) Bitino da Faenza by F. Filippini, 1921, dated to circa 1420; (f and h) Italian School, Romagnole - 14th cent., (f) by Richard Offner, 1923, (h) by L. Coletti, 1930; (g) Giuliano da Rimini by van Marle, 1924. First half of 14th cent.; (i) Giovanni Baronzio by L. Coletti, 1932; (j) Master of the Last Judgment by Bernard Berenson, August 1935. In the Church of Sant'Agostino, there are frescoes by this master: Virgin and Child enthroned with angels, the Trial by Poison of St. John the Evangelist at Patmos, and so on.
