Attribution history (b) Italian School, Pompeiian by Frick Art Reference Library, 1930. The 1911 catalogue of the Naples Museum, p.228, gives for the date for the majority of the Pompeiian frescoes a period beginning in the 1st c. B.C. ending in the reign of Titus in the 1st c. A.D.
Subject (a) Executed during a period beginning with the reign of Augustus and ending in the first year of the reign of Titus. A few were done between earthquake of 63 and catastrophe of 79.
