Attribution history (b) Italian School, Ferrarese, second half of 14th century, per van Marle, 1924. There are many detached frescoes in the church of Martiri and in the town gallery. They reveal that not only the Bolognese school but also those of the Florentine and Sienese had aderents in Ferrara. (c) Attributed to the Italian School, Ferrarese, 14th century by the Frick Art Reference Library, New York, March 1933.
